# Use cases

> How agencies, investors and founders use SeedBasis as research software: they put in an idea and read a cited, automatically generated report.

The same research, three ways in. An idea goes in, 77 live data services are searched by software, and a cited, automatically generated report is ready in about an hour. No person writes it or advises you.

## Product agencies: Check an idea before you build it

Before you scope a build. Before your team scopes a product, run the idea through SeedBasis. The report covers who it is up against, what it takes to build and where the idea is weak, all from cited sources, and you can put your agency's logo on it.

- Start a report from a plain description of the idea.
- Stack, what to buy instead of build, and the effort, in the Build group.
- Each claim names the sources behind it, so the numbers can be checked.
- Your logo and your firm's name on the report and on every page of its PDF.
- Hand it over as a PDF, a Word copy or slides, ready for your own scoping notes.

## Angels and early-stage funds: Screen a pitch with research

Before you read the deck. Run an idea from a pitch through SeedBasis. Each section scores the idea on its own question with the sentence behind the score, the overview says what the research found and where the sections disagree, and every finding shows its sources and how far to trust it.

- A score out of 100 for each section, with the reason under it.
- Problem, market, competition, feasibility, timing and prior attempts, researched side by side.
- Where two sections found conflicting things, both sides are shown.
- Source tiers and confidence on every claim, so you can see how far to trust it.
- A two-page summary to keep with your screening notes.

## Founders: Research before you commit

When you are choosing between ideas. Put in an idea and, about an hour later, work from a cited report instead of a blank page. Rewrite anything, add pages and notes of your own, ask the agent to tighten a section, then download the whole report, one group or one section, as a PDF.

- Type into any page. Your changes are marked as yours, and the original research stays in Archives.
- Download the whole report, one group or one section, as a PDF, as Markdown or as a Word document.
- Run one report for each idea you are weighing, and compare them side by side.
- Every claim cites its sources, and the PDF lists them, so you can check them yourself.

## Questions

### Can I put my own logo on a report?

Yes. In the download window, under Your logo, add your logo and your firm's name. They show under the report's title and print on the PDF's cover and at the top of every page. You can also send your logo to the agent in the chat and ask it to put it on. The report still says it was researched by SeedBasis.

### Who do the questions ask about?

The person behind the idea. A report asks a few short questions, such as budget, time and what you already have, and nothing about that person is assumed beyond the answers. Your next report starts with those answers filled in from your last one, each easy to change.

### How long does a report take, and what does it cost?

About an hour, and we email you when it is ready. Each report is paid once, with no subscription, and packs of three and ten cost less a report: see [pricing](https://seedbasis.com/pricing).

### Can I check the sources?

Yes. Every claim cites the sources behind it, and the PDF lists each page's sources with their addresses, so anyone you share it with can check them too. [Our method](https://seedbasis.com/method) explains how a claim is checked before you see it.

### Where do I read the reports?

In your browser, on a computer or a phone, and in your own AI assistant through [our MCP server](https://seedbasis.com/mcp).
