# SeedBasis for your AI assistant

> Connect SeedBasis to Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, Cursor, Grok or your coding tools, and read or edit your reports from there.

Last updated: 2026-09-30. Canonical page: https://seedbasis.com/mcp

SeedBasis runs an MCP server, so the assistant you already use can read your reports where you work: findings with their evidence, sources, charts, your own notes and the documents you attached. Give it permission and it can edit them too. It is your account and your reports; nobody else's are reachable.

## The server address

Paste it wherever your assistant asks for an MCP server or connector URL. Most assistants then open a browser and ask you to sign in to SeedBasis and allow the connection. Ones that ask for a header instead take a personal token, which you make in Settings, Connections.

## Setting it up

## Things to ask

- **The short version.** Read my latest SeedBasis report and tell me the three findings that matter most, with their confidence.
- **The case against.** From my SeedBasis report, what is the strongest argument against building this? Cite the findings.
- **Check a number.** In my SeedBasis report, where does the market size figure come from? Open the source behind it.
- **Across reports.** Search all my SeedBasis reports for pricing and compare what each one found.
- **Build from it.** Read the Feasibility and Stack sections of my SeedBasis report and scaffold the project to match.
- **In their words.** Read the Messaging section of my SeedBasis report and write this page's headline and copy in the words its customers used.
- **Keep it current.** Add a note to the Competition page of my SeedBasis report with what we just learned about this rival.

## What it can do

- **List your reports** and read any one of them: the overview, a whole section, or one finding with the quotes and sources behind it.
- **Search across every report** you have, by a word in a claim.
- **Follow a citation** to the page it came from.
- **Read the documents you attached** in a SeedBasis chat, a part at a time, as your own information.
- **Edit a report**, if you allow it: write and rewrite text, highlight, add notes, tick things off and add pages of your own.

## What it cannot do

- **Start a report or spend a credit.** Reports are started in SeedBasis, by you.
- **Change the research.** What the research found is kept whatever an assistant writes over it, and the original is always in Archives.
- **Delete your own pages.** That stays in the app.
- **Reach anyone else's reports.** Every request is tied to one signed-in account, and a connection you remove stops working at once.

## Questions

### What can a connected assistant see?

Your own reports and nothing else: findings with their evidence, sources, charts, your notes and the documents you attached in SeedBasis. Every request is tied to your signed-in account, and nobody else's reports are reachable.

### Can it change my reports?

Only if you allow it. Reading and editing are separate permissions. When editing is on, every change is marked as made by an assistant, appears in the page's history, and is undone in one click. The research itself is always kept in Archives.

### Can it spend my credits or start a report?

No. Reports are started in SeedBasis, by you. Nothing an assistant does can spend money.

### Which assistants work?

Anything that speaks MCP: ChatGPT, Claude, Lovable, Grok, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes and the Gemini CLI are written up above, and Cursor and VS Code add it in one click. Others connect the same way, by signing in or with a personal token in an Authorization header.

### How do I disconnect one?

In [Settings, Connections](https://seedbasis.com/settings/connections). Removing an assistant or revoking a token stops it at once.

### Does it cost extra?

No. Connecting an assistant costs nothing and uses no credits: your account can make 1,000 calls a month from connected assistants, counted from the first of each month. What the assistant itself costs is between you and its maker.
